These scribes are great for marking soft wood and hard woods. They are great for everything from marking your saw cuts to even drawing lines (my dad uses 3. In his everyday work). These are forged from 5160 and will last a long time with proper care. They also stick out a little better than pencils so you have a lesser chance of losing it on your work bench, but in the case you may misplace it on you your bench there is a loop on them to hang them any place so you always know where it’s at. These also come smoothed or twisted (the twist adds a little more grip to them)
